About The Camp
KINGLY BUSH CAMP is a self catering tented camp situated in beautiful GDP Nature Reserve which forms part of Balule Nature Reserve within the Greater Kruger. GDP Nature Reserve is home to the big 5.
The camp is rustic, off the grid and unfenced. There is a wooden barrier around the camp with an electric elephant fence. If you are adventurous and love camping in the wild this is the place for you. The camp has four tents each with two beds and is ideal for a group of 8 family members or friends. Should you wish to book the camp, it will be for your own private use. No sharing with other people
Kingly Bush Camp is built around a floodlit waterhole frequented by buffalo, elephants, leopard and various plains game. Solar is used to power lights, fans, wifi and charging of devices

An intimate dining area flows easily into a seating area, complete with a rustic bar set-up. Guests can enjoy these small relaxation spaces, read a book or connect over a gin and tonic

The fully equipped bush kitchen is ideal for self catering and includes a 4-plate gas stove and two gas fridge/freezers
The bar has two 12V Engel fridge/freezers to keep drinks cold

Activities
One game drive per day with a qualified and experienced guide. Additional game drives can be arranged at extra cost.
Boat trips on the Olifants river can be arranged at extra cost.
Walking safari with armed guide can be arranged at extra cost.
Evenings are spent lounging around the crackling campfire anticipating any visits from animals at the floodlit waterhole.

Occupying a territory of 3700 hectares bordering the perennial Olifants River, Kingly offers the best of both savannah and riverfront habitats. In addition, the undulating landscapes laden with rocky outcrops and hills provide plenty of den sites for big cats. Hippos and crocodiles can be seen at the river
Getting There
By road:
Kingly Bush Camp is located 15km from Phalaborwa town and 20km from the Phalaborwa Kruger Gate. Guests need to make their way to the Grietjie Balule Gate where they will be met by a representative who will escort them to camp. The meeting- and arrival time needs to be arranged the day before. A high-clearance vehicle is needed to get to camp
By air:
Fly into Hoedspruit Airport (Eastgate Airport) and self-drive to the gate. The distance is roughly 50km from the centre of Hoedspruit. Continue on the R40 and take the Grietjie Balule turn off (it is well signposted). Drive to the Grietjie Balule gate. Sign in at the gate
